So we decided we liked this hobby enough to invest in our own extractor. Ordered it from Brushy Mtn.  Just assembled and used it today. Works great.

meg - I've been in touch with ralph (it sounds like messages between the two of you didn't get through) and I have tentative plans to pick up the extractor tomorrow.  give me a call at 718.869.2012 if you have any questions or want to discuss how I can help get it to you.   -zack

It's ok. I couldn't continue to wait for it so I made arrangements to use a friends extractor. Thanks anyway.

Hi All,

I would like to use the extractor this weekend - or next.  Is it still in Brooklyn?

Thanks,
Tara

Unfortunately, as of this past weekend the extractor has been cleaned, wrapped, and put into storage.

We are trying to coordinate the next monthly extractor-use jamboree for sometime in August.  (The July use-the-extractor get-together was on the 4th at the Bee-B-Q.)  If those of you out there who would be interested in using the extractor in August could please reply to this thread and let me know which weekend would be best for you --- at the moment the most likely days are either August 1 or August 22 --- I will try to coordinate a location for a day that works.

The extractor will be made available in Sunnyside, Queens (near the 46-Bliss stop of the 7 train) on Sunday, August 22.

If you plan to use the extractor on that day, please RSVP to anna@nyc-bees.org by Sunday, August 15 and include a rough estimate of how many frames you plan to bring with you.

I've been informed that the NYCBA extractor can only handle shallow and medium frames - does anyone have an extractor that can handle deep frames (or know of someone who does)?

I'd just as soon not have to go out and buy one of my own now, but if it comes to that, any product reviews? - I'll confess that all the small ones look pretty much alike to me...
